How To Make the Hazel Pattern
The Hazel is the ultimate flowy, comfortable, wearable piece that you can dress up or down.
Featuring a tie neck yoke, balloon sleeves and three voluminous tiers (with pockets, of course!)
To make the Hazel blouse, simply make two tiers and hem!
RECOMMENDED FABRIC & SUPPLIES
Fabric - The Hazel pattern allows for any fabric to be used, however we suggest a medium weight, opaque fabric so you don’t have to line it (as it’s already a lot of fabric!) Also keep in mind to use a fabric that is relatively easy to steam, as ironing a dress or blouse with this much fabric is a task in itself.
Thread - You will need 1-2 large spools of thread for sewing, and four spools of thread for overlocking
Tools - You will need a straight stitch domestic sewing machine. If desired, you can use a domestic overlocking machine to neaten your raw edges. If you’re wanting to create rouleau (spaghetti) neck ties, you’ll need a loop turner as well.
You’ll also need 1 metre of a 1-1.5cm width elastic, an iron, an ironing board, a sharp pair of scissors and sewing pins.
